iCAT 2014 Conference

The Rapid Prototyping and Innovative Manufacturing Network - RAPIMAN is organising the 5th International Conference on Additive Technologies. The 5th iCAT conference will be held between 15th and 17th, in Vienna, Austria. After 4 consecutive events organised in Slovenia the organisational team decided to take the conference abroad, to a city to which the middle European nations are still sentimentally attached.

Vienna is a beautiful city, easy to live in with a rich cultural heritage. It is being regarded as a City of Music, but also said to be a City of Dreams - mainly because of Sigmund Freud but there are many other reasons for such naming - come and see by yourself.

This October we will make it a city of Additive Manufacturing and 3D printing. To that purpose RAPIMAN has joined forces with:

  • the Collaborative Research Center 814 - Additive Manufacturing at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen - N├╝renberg,
  • the Institute of Production Engineering at Technical University Graz,
  • University of Applied Sciences Campus 02, Graz and
  • the Association for the Promotion of Automation and Robotics.
Of course we are still working hand-in-hand with:
  • the Production Engineering institute at University of Maribor and
  • DAAAM International Vienna

In this spirit a three day conference will be organized that will once again bring together experts, researchers, experienced users, and newcomers, from the additive manufacturing field.

iCAT 2014 special topics:

  • Art & Design - expanding creativity with Additive Technologies,
  • Engineers and Medical Doctors working hand in hand.

Call for Papers:

Authors are kindly invited to prepare papers that cover one of the conference topics:

  • Additive Manufacturing and Rapid Tooling,
  • Materials for Additive Technologies,
  • Quality Control for Additive Technologies,
  • CAD and Innovative Simulation Methods,
  • Customer Input Systems and Mass Customisation,
  • Case Studies and Best Practice Examples,
  • Education for Additive Technologies,
  • or one of the iCAT 2014 special topics..

We are inviting papers for both oral and poster presentations. Deadline for abstract submissions is May 31st, 2014. Abstract and paper submission is possible after registration.
